Review:
Weird Science is the best 80 comedy ever made. Im saying it. Ghostbusters, Summer Rental, The Great region, Strange Brew, Gung Ho, Mr. Mom, all these films have their place, but none of them can fit Weird Science for laughs or pure .... eightiesness. Yes quality eightiesness. This is an annoying, dated quality but it is tangible and valued by my fellow eighty loving brothers on this day. Come with me if you want to time when Anthony Michael Hall still calls Fielding Kelly LeBrock was French for sexy.Weird Science has everything eighties comedy needs: A least one hot girl, a few actors who can no longer work , or something to do together, full of pomp eighty wires, annoying as hell eighties soundtrack, (and Oingo Boingo so annoying and eighties how to get), and very of cheap funny jokes. Of course the best thing about Weird Science Bill Paxton, who plays Wyatts Big Brother Chet. Chet is the worst Big Brother ever grace movie screen and is a model for all big brothers everywhere, I understand. Chet like to pay money and valuables from Wyatt in exchange for his silence about Wyatts activities. The best part of the film is when Chet gets in the toad thing or whatever it is. Man I love the part. The rest of the cast do a good job for their stock characters. Kelly LeBrock good work hot. Robert Downey Jr. show any of the signs of future drug addiction. The film is commonplace in the fact that it is not something that is innovative or special. It's a fun movie. And eighties classic. Bottom Line: If you grew up in the eighties, and you've never seen Weird Science then you must pay for your crimes to go out and buy it now.
